how does a jw feel when he "has" to shun someone he likes/loves?.
during the time i was in, i shunned people.
but as i didn't like them, it was no problem.. but now, i'm trying to understand how my family might really feel.. (i presume here, of course, that they do "like/love me".).
I can't really remember if I ever actively shunned anyone. If I did, I beg their forgiveness for my ignorance and rudeness.
But NOW I don't think I could shun a DF'd person, unless it was someone I hated all along or if they were someone who derserves to be shunned (not because of any religious edict, but a social one) like a child molester or rapist or something like that.
Then again, if they were a molester or rapist, they probably aren't DF'd and are currently appointed and/or annointed.
lots of jw's lead a double life.
many are young people that simply go through the motions until they can free themselves .
others have relatives or family still trapped .
it's crap like this that shows me that this cult is NOT God's personal channel. Plus the whole circumstantial DFing procedure that tells people that they can continue to associate with a child molester, yet can't speak to biological relative who happens to have a "problem" with .........GASP! ...........tobacco.

Mon Capitan - Not at all. Violence today is pretty bad, but it is no worse than other time periods. Roman public impalement. Beheadings during French Revolution. Rape and butchery in Nanking. All those happened before Rockstar Games was founded.
